Set in the small town of Lymington, Festibelly is a one-day festival that showcases up and coming talent across various genres. Now in its third year Festibelly is really coming into its own. Attracting festival lovers from near and afar to pitch their tents amongst the trees and flowers of the New Forest.

This year featured three stages showcasing well-known acts such as Johnny Flynn, The Big Pink and Man Like Me as well as smaller local bands. Between sets, DJ’s laid down some classic dance anthems and crowd pleasers whilst war was been waged either side of the stage between two urban artists in Secret Wars.

The day offered up quite a chilled atmosphere with a good mix of reggae and indie on the main stage while festival goers relaxed in the sun, braved the slip ‘n’ slide, browsed the vintage tent or sampled the local venison burgers. After the sun went down things livened up with the bigger acts emerging to entertain the crowds. Highlight of the night was Johnny Flynn who stole the show with his soulful vocals and uplifting folk, which really got the crowd going. The night was wrapped up neatly by a silent disco in the dance tent, giving those who weren’t ready to call it a night the chance to dance till early morning, while others could sleep soundly in their tents.

For less than £30 this is definitely worth the money and worth putting in the calendar for next year. With increasing popularity and publicity we just hope it can keep its unique intimacy and charm.
